I have been following this forum for some time and thought I would post a few pictures of my Zastava 9.3x62. I have wanted a reasonably priced left hand Mauser action for some time and offer a thank you to those who got the K-Var order going awhile back. Overall, I am happy with the gun, but as others have commented, the fit and finish is a little rough. I am still working on a load. The gun shoots ok; the best groups so far have been around an inch at 50 yards.
The stock has been glass bedded (lots of it) and a pillar installed for the rear trigger guard screw. I added the ebony accents, lightly stained the stock and finished it with Minwax Polyurethane. I will likely get it checkered by a professional as I’m not good at checkering.
I also installed a Gentry safety and had some challenges with it. I believe the term used is it does not ‘clock’ correctly and required me to employ a longer firing pin tip (Tubb) and stronger 21lb spring to get consistent primer ignition.
The scope mounts are Leupold FN Mauser and I had to shim the front mount .030 thousandths to get it to elevation to work for the Burris 3x9 scope. If anyone has had good success with another brand, please let me know.

+1, gun looks real good after the work you have done on it. Hopefully you well get it shooting as good as it looks. And I hope the wallpaper was the wife's choice.

Good Hunting,

I'm very jealous of the figure in your wood. It looks really good.

Thanks for the comments on the gun and I'm sure my wife will appreciate the complements on the wall paper! Smiler

Good job cleaning it up. I haven't yet been back to the US yet to take mine out of the box, so I have no idea how the stock looks or whether there is any figure at all. Frowner

can someone confirm if the 7x57 is the same action size as a 3006 or 9.3? In other words, standard and not short action?

Welcome and very well done. I bought the Talley bases and rings. They fit perfect.
