Thanks Todd,
Ready to do it again. Sheep hunters have a short term memory when it comes to pain and misery. Brett warned me about that as did AKSheephunter.
Cheers

Sure, blame the memory loss on sheep hunting.
Well done on the ram.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

In the next one I pack for Jena. I plan on staying in Sheep Shape. Crossfit being the "Crack" of exercise and all that.

FrostbitFolks I need to apologize to our fine pilot and the air service we used on this trip.
I've lived in Alaska 22 years and in the bush for 8 years so I have been on so many small planes that it feels no different than driving to a supermarket to me.
I posted a picture that I took from the rear seat of our pilot holding a chart and put the caption "Never what you want you want to see your pilot doing".
Anyone who lives up here and flies as much as we do would realize it was an attempt at humorously misrepresenting a photo.
Our pilot kindly pulled out the chart to show Jena where a particular river drainage we were flying over at the time originated in the mountain range.
It was not my intent to imply there was anything wrong with this air service or pilot. On the contrary. They both did an exemplary job, especially considering the weather we were dealing with towards the end of the hunt.
I would not hesitate to use them again.

Kaboku68Dave the pilot is a class guy. He is a super safe pilot, an excellent hunter and a great person who you could ride the river with.
It is interesting that I work with his wife and she thought the picture was great.
Im glad you folks had a great time.
Sincerely,
Thomas

Dave is a great guy and a gifted pilot. He personally was not concerned about the picture looking at the chart. He thought it was funny as well. He was more concerned that those from outside Alaska that do not fly often might not understand and it could reflect poorly on the flight service he works for. I did not think about that when I put the picture with funny caption up originally.
That is why I took it down.
I'd fly again with these guys in a heartbeat.
