Wyoming sheep/moose tags take about 20 years to never on the
draw system. You apply for a tag,and a computer selects the
successful applicants.Forget about sheep/moose.

Elk tags are drawn also, but your chances are better.

There are places you can just buy a tag...Idaho,Colorado,
B.C. Canada,etc...Start there.

My .02 is to go on a Wilderness elk hunt, not a ranch.I think
a week to 10 days in real elk country will be well remembered. As JTG posted,In elk hunting high success on big
bulls = big $$$.That's just the way it is.

Good luck

Jeff

Thanks for the replies and the email. Looks like I could find someting if I looked hard enough.

Unfortunately, this dream has to be put on hold. Things have turned for the worse where I work. No raises for at least 18 months, disappointing year end bonus, will be lucky to be employed by the end of the year.

I will keep putting in for preferrence point in CO.

I know where you can hunt in Alberta for 6K where a 330 bull is expected and a 350+ bull isn't suprising at all.

Check out www.djoutfitting.com

DJ hunts the 4-corners region of Colo. I've seen some great bulls come out of there. A full package elk/mulie hunt goes for something like $4K plus tags.
Elk tags in that area are over the counter and I believe that area may also allow the hunter to pick up a cow tag as well. Mulie tags are draw only, but seeing as most of that country is pvt land, drawing chances are pretty good.
I know that last year he took a couple of bulls in the 300 + class as well as at least one mulie that scored 207 as a non-typical.
Food is first rate as are the tents and equipment.

Guides, well, I've seen quite a few, but never have I seen them as gung ho to get a hunter a shot.

email me for more info if you wish.
