When the capivara is hit, if theres some water nearby, itll go straight to the water.

But usually when it dies underwater, it takes just about half an hour and the capivara will float.

If the hunt is taken in close range, the hunter may get some injuries. Theres some cases that the capivara bite the leg, the hands, and even if its not hitten by a shot yet. But generally they are calm animals.

Mr. Pozzi,

First of all, I'll no argue with you but I'll just make clear some points.

I'm not a ph (professional hunter), as they only exist in Africa and they achieve that title after serious examinations (most of the times), I'm just someone that now and then organize and guide hunts.

Capybaras are not allowed to be hunted in Uruguay, despite that, meat hunters from villages hunt them and most of them use 22 rifles and they go for head shots when they are in the water. It's a pity that our gun laws are so severe, because of this, many big game animals are wounded using 22 rifles, but it's not the case of capybaras when most of the shots are taken at not more than 5 metres when that have the head out of the water, at least in the forest lagoons here in Uruguay.

I ate them over noodles when I spent some time in Ecuador.

Mighty good I must say.

I've made a little delete to my previous post, with the work at the office and my wedding in couple of weeks I've enough to keep me busy, so I decided I don't want/need more "action"

Be happy
