There are free range Aoudad in the Palo Duro canyon (south of Amarillo) and in the Trans-Pecos (far west Texas).

I doubt there are any true free range SH Oryx in Texas, as they are too valuable to "set loose," so to speak.

If you do a google search for "Texas Aoadad hunt" you'll get a ton of options. I can't recommend one over another.

There are some very large high-fence ranches that would have both. Try looking up the Indianhead Ranch. They're pricey, but it's a remarkable piece of country.

Indianhead Ranch is a 10,000 acre ranch, one piece of Land in the County of Val Verde and is surrounded by only one perimeter fence on three sides; the fourth side is a natural boundary, the junction between the Amistad Lake and the Devils River.

Fair Chase, and terrain is spectacular! You will definately have to work for your Aoudad or Oryx there.

I have a free range Aoudad hunt in far west TX that I can discuss with you but dont know of anyone that does a free range Oryx hunt. Although I can help you find a hunt on good sized ranch. Let me know if you are interested in the Aoudad hunt and I'll work something out with you.

The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

I believe there are free ranging Oryx on public land in west TX but you have to draw for the tag.

Actually free ranging Auodad are easy to find...try searching for the Boss Ranch in west Texas or pm Ray Atkinson on AR. He has alot of west Texas buddies. The only free ranging Scimitar Horned Oryx I am aware of are outfited by Lendall Laxton of L&L Hunting Services out of Raymondville Texas. I don't have his number handy but a Google should turn him up! Use my name if you want, I've hunted nilgai with him every year for the last 4 years...Russell Marshall.
