We have our first hunt of the year going on right now and despite warmer than normal tempratures, an abundance of grass from perfect rainfall and a nearly full moon we are seeing some damn nice bucks and we killed this deer last night.

Long story short, a giant buck was spotted and he left his bed in a hurry. This deer was a true Sonoran giant and was a "no brainer"! My hunter knew this immediately and all 3 of us saw the giant inline he had on one antler. Anyway, the buck was heading towards a creek bottom with head high grass and I took me eyes off of him for just a second while trying to prepare for the shot. I thought the buck had made the tall grass but when I looked up "he" was standing there looking at us. My hunter shot him but we had to track him over a mile to finish the job. When we got to the buck we knew immediately that he was a good deer but not THE deer! This buck must have been laying down and when the big inline buck went by he stood up to see what the commotion was about.

This is still a hell of a deer but its no exaggeration when I tell y'all that this bucks rack would fit inside of the other bucks rack. Regardless, we are blessed to have seen him and still kill a fantastic deer.

Drummond, how's the season finishing up for you guys?
For anyone considering a hunt there feel free to PM me. I went in Nov. and it couldn't have been safer and they have some very nice mulies.
Sergio was a great host and the food was excellent.
I had Rochelle show me how she cooked a certain Mexican pepper and came home and cooked it for my wife who loved it as well.
