Hi all, Any fellow posters hunt or fish in Maui? I'll be in Maui for 10 days 1st wk of June of this year. I have three days to hunt or big game fish on Maui. I realize that this isn't much time, but I'm sure there's something I can hunt or fish during that time, even if just to say i did it. Would you please give me some suggestions? What species of game or fish? What are the true indigenous species on that island, if any? Rifle or bow? Any "must dos" for game or fish? I'm open to any and all experiences. I've just started to look into the possibilities. Thanks so much! CL Please feel free to respond here or by PM. I can also supply my e-mail and phone/call. P.S. I just recently got engaged to a wonderful woman so, please keep the bikini hunting comments at bay

I am considering a trip to Maui in June also. Come on guys, someone must have some info on the hunting opportunities there. We seldom get to choose But I've seen them go both ways And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory Than to slowly rot away!

Hi guys, Maui is a beautiful island to visit, be sure to see the upcountry ranch lands arround Makawao and Kula. The problem with Maui is access to hunting with all the development there. Locals know where to go but its hard as a visitor. Axis deer, boar and goats are the main big game animals. There are several public land areas for boar, but its a hard hunt just coming in on public land... I know there are a few outfitters on Maui (like Arrow One Ranch) who do fenced hunts, but I've not had any experience with them. You can Google search Maui hunting and they'll be there. There is some good upland bird hunting too, but you're not there during the season. Easy to arrange a free range guided hunt on Lanai too for either Axis deer or mouflon if you want. Great fishing off Maui: tuna, marlin, ono, etc. Lots of boat charters. Pm me for more information. Before all else, be armed. Machiavelli
