After booking a coastal black bear hunt with Bill Rivas in the spring of 2012 and having it turn out great and as advertised, I started talking to him about the Sonora hunt he had listed. He immediately stated that he had not been on this hunt but had known Jeremy and his dad for over twenty years and would recommend this hunt without hesitation for myself and Linda.

When we arrived in Hermosillo, Jeremy was there and the firearm clearance was organized, quick and very easy.

The ranch is about 1 1/2 hours out from Hermosillo. When we arrived
Mike, Dillon and Manuel greeted us and took our gear to a bedroom in the ranch house. Manuel had the BBG going with the first of many fantastic authentic Mexican meals.

I have read about and always wanted to hunt down in Sonora and was not disappointed in the game and scenery.

The first morning, we started seeing nice mule deer bucks.

I made a nice quick shot on my first Javelina and a long 278yd shot on a coyote that was trotting away from me.

Linda wanted a good representative buck. I told Jeremy a buck that was wide, a heavy 30" four pointer regardless of score, was what I dreamed of.
I held out for a bruiser and didn’t connect but Linda killed a beautiful buck on the last day.

Jeremy runs a great operation down there in Sonora. Mike and Dillon are his longtime friends and also guide for him at Jeremy's King Camp on the Nushagak River and for his Brown Bear / Moose operation.
Manuel is a very important piece of the operation as he lives in Hermosillo and is a valuable local contact and is also the cook at Jeremy's Nushagak King Camp.

This video is not enabled for mobile devices and can only be played on PC's. It has great footage of Linda crushing her buck with her Kimber .308.

Some great pix and congrats to your wife on a nice buck!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Thanks for the great pictures! It looks like a great hunt regardless of not finding the buck you were looking for.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Great pictures! Looks and sounds like a fun hunt.

I like Jeremy Toman, he's always been a really nice guy and he's pretty damn funny. I bet he is a lot of fun to hunt with

DogMan, congrats on a great hunt, and thanks for the great pics. I've been down there twice myself. There's nothing like the Sonora desert in January, huh? That made me really miss Mexico and those Grande Buros!

That's really cool, thanks for letting me know!

I'll never forget the business card he gave me the very first time I met him at the airport in Hermosillo, it was HILARIOUS and I knew immediately that I'd like that guy
