I spent the last few days hunting in the Texas Hill Country with my buddy Rusty Kimbrell at his ranch. I had originally planned on hunting Sika, but after 2 1/2 days of chasing them around without any success....I switched over to Fallow and took this great old buck on the last afternoon! Also got a big ol' stinky Four Horn as well.

Here are a few pics for you guys....

And last, but certainly not least....a celebratory smoke and scotch

Nice photos, nice animals, nice beard.

Just like I said on THF.

What is the deal with your rifle, I hadn't noticed the zebra camo before.

Looks good.

BWW,

Thanks bud!

The rifle is a Remington 700 Sendero SF II in .300 Win Mag. I had a custom textured epoxy paint job done by MG Arms in Houston. I also had an oversized bolt knob and and spiral bolt fluting done by Kampfeld Custom.

Nice... exotics are always great off-season fun!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Correct....I was hunting a 400 acre high fenced property. I'm sure it sounds easy....but it was absolutely not. Even I was surprised...

There were only 2 Sika bucks left on the property (they have been trying to eradicate them). They stayed together, and we only saw them twice in 2.5 days. Both times were at 400-500 yards and running from us already. I will be going back in September to try again.
