My dad left yesterday for Mongolia. He is hunting ibex in the high Alti. I really wanted to go but decided to hold off. I will give some updates when he returns.

Thornell, Never pass up an opportunity to go hunting anywhere. Mongolia, like many others, is a one of a kind place. Friendly people, and miles of nothing as far as one can see. The vastness in amazing as are the cultural differences. An all around great place and one not to be missed. I hope he does well. I am sure he will have a grand time. Paladin, I wanted to go but I am saving for my cape buffalo hunt in Tanzania next year. Hopefully I will get there in the next few years.

How good ddo your horse skills have to be to go n one of these hunts? I'm assuming it is Ibex? I really like the idea but struggle with the horse bit. Rgds, FB

FB, If I am correct the horses there are not all that large so it won't be a long fall! No really I'm not sure. My father will be back in a few days and I will let you know. I do know that all the hunters there do not use horses, but use jeeps as far as possible then go on foot. I think horses are mainly used when they are available (borrowed or rented from locals). Sorry I wasn't more help, but I will fill everyone in on my father's expierence.
