I lived in Bemidji for over 16 yrs. now you will understand that I speak from a wee bit of exp.....

Walleye, Northern Pike(snakes), Muskie,Bass and other panfish...., Ruffed Grouse, Pheasants if you go south, Ducks both pudlers and divers, and Geese. Then comes Whitetails, Moose, Bear, and lots of varmints.

The only reason I left was the COLD!

Enjoy

Sodak,
I've lived here since 1998, and grew up in Colorado. The whitetail hunting is good, lots of deer, but I'm still trying to get used to hunting from a stand. There are so man g**damn trees in this state! A stand in many areas is a must. I'm an inbetweener and mostly post from the ground. There's very little spot and stalk where I am, as with many parts of the state--save farm land.

FISHING: Fishing is awesome. I just had a dream last night about muskie fishing. I caught some muskies, but the best part of the dream was there weren't any other muskie fisherman on the lake. My parents have had a cabin on Vermilion since 1978 and I've been there every summer since the day I was born ('80).
---One note: Whatever people may tell you, muskie fishing on Vermilion is crap. Boy I wish that were true, I miss the days when I had the muskies all to myself...
Anyways, good luck in Bemidji. I've only been there once, but it seems like a nice town.
