I hunted spring bear with Dennis Smith a couple years ago. Greg Rodriquez set up my hunt. Had a very good hunt. This area is full of big black bears. I took a coal black boar that squared 6'11" and my father took a chocolate boar that squared 7'2". If my memory serves me right, we passed on something like 25 bears before we started shooting.

I had such a good trip that Greg is setting up another spring hunt for us this spring. If you want a good black bear taken under spot and stalk conditions, this is the outfit.

We had 2 good hunts this year. In May I shot a large black bear, my buddy shot 2 nice bears. Went back in October and we each killed a big bull moose. I used a CZ 9.3x62 with 286 Nosler partions for bear and a Rem. 350. mag with 250 partions, for moose.
