Just returned from two days at Paradise Valley Hunting Club in Ehrhardt SC. (WWW.pvhc.net). I had a great time. The club has 4,000 acres and 60 stands scattered around Ehrhardt. The owner, Bang Collins, and his son Tommy are great people who will do their best to put you in a position where you will have an opportunity to take deer. While they do have a fenced in trophy area, most of the plots are unfenced, but planted with a variety of browse to attract deer. Due to a combination of high temperatures and a full moon, the deer were uncharacteristicly inactive during daylight hours while I was there. I did take a good doe, but didn't see a buck. They were there though. There lots of tracks, scrapes and rubs. I have no doubt that good trophies are available. They just didn't come out when I was there. That's hunting. This isn't a white glove and crystal type of hunt, but it isn't priced that way either. The accomodations are comfortable, the company good, and the food, well you roll your own or go out to a restaurant. If you are looking for a good hunt with comfortable lodging with good people try Paradise Valley. I plan on going back next year. | ||
