The wife and I are going to Los Ombues in early November for dove shooting and Dorado fishing. Has anyone been there before? Regards Elmo

Yes I have. You will like it. Have you been to Argentina before? How long will you be staying? We had 12 shooters for 6 shooting sessions over 4 days. That was about enough dove shooting for me. Food was decent if not spectacular and wine was exceptional. Atmosphere was great. View from the lodge was unbelievable. If you have good binocs take them. Viewing the huge wetlands adjacent to Los Omboues lodge with binocs could keep me intersted for some time. You will have no lack of doves if I don 't miss my guess. The bird boys kept a kill tally. It was unbelievable. The 12 of us killed just under 26,000 birds in those 6 shooting sessions. Several peices of advice. Lift weights between here and the time you go. Just lifting the gun by the last day made my arm know that I should have done more excercise prior. Do take shooting gloves and medical tape for your thumb. Loading it that many times will destroy your thumb if you are not careful. Do not touch your barrel with bare skin during a session or you will regret it. If money is no obstacle it may be worth it to hire an extra bird boy to make sure you always have a loaded gun and your thumb will not need the support. Do use a shirt with a recoil pad. On member of our party shot the skin off his shoulder the first day. He averaged 55-60 boxes of ammo per setting. If you can take a go at perdize. You will like it. Good luck and good hunting. Other questions just PM me. D Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"
