I've drawn a tag for rifle antelope oct 5-10 near the town of La Junita. My buddy said because of the drought in that area (worst in 150 years)
he hasn't seen any antelope. I was wondering if anyone had been seeing any in that area.

I drew area 25 for Wyoming,starts Oct 1.
I talked to the ranch owner last night. He said
the drought has been 4 years running. However he
said getting a goat should be no problem.Finding
a big one will be harder.FWIW

I will be hunting just west of you. I am out here every day and right now things don't look that great. The rancher running the place where I hunt says he is seeing very few animals this year. If you can find a water hole or stock tank that has water your odds should improve considerably. I have been seeing only one small bunch on the way in to work this last week. No one here knows where they go, but they have to be someplace.
Good luck.

thanks CGB, We leave tomorrow. Our buddy out there said the lyman area has gotten more rain and he has seen a few goats up that way. Out where we will be hunting he said he has seen one big old looking big boy, he had three does with him (should of had 20) but he looked as poor as a snake. Oh well just have to hunt a little harder and make those shots count there may not be another chance.
good luck
