Has anyone done this hunt? They are not the most impressive looking sheep, but the price of the hunts seem attractive.

Bowhunr, I took this hunt in 2002 with three other hunters. It was a great experience. There were lots of sheep at elevations above 12,000 feet. Shooting was long distance and I managed to take both sheep and gazelle with a handgun (XP-100)In my opinion, it's one of the best buys in the sheep hunting world. It was an adventure just getting to camp.

Thanks MAH,

I'm seriously considering this hunt for '07. I have always wanted to hunt in Asia, and this one sure fits my price range. My friend and I are thinking of bringing our wives and letting them do the "tourist thing" while we are on the hunt. Any thoughts on this?

Beijing is full of culture and historic sites including the Great Wall. Your wives would probably enjoy touring the city while you guys travel to inner China and experience a high altitude sheep hunt. My wife enjoyed Beijing and all the tourist stuff and I'm sure your ladies would also.

A friend of mine did a hunt for blue sheep and gazelle earlier this year. Tagged out on both (PM me if you'ld like some photos). They booked with Safari Outfitters. Send them an email and they can give you more info if your interested. I believe Clark Jeffs from Safari Outfitters also joined them on the hunt (don't hold me to this as I'm not positive).

If you don't like the way the blue sheep looks, what about maybe an ibex hunt in Mongolia? They are also reasonably priced and look stunning. Incase your interested, Can-Asia Expeditions is the name I hear recommended the most along with Safari Outfitters.

Thanks Sevens,

I have to agree that the Mongolian Ibex is a majestic animal. This will give me another option to consider.

What kind of cost is in the Blue sheep hunts? Mongolia looks like about $4K plus air. China in the same park?

ROSCOE,

Most of the Blue Sheep hunts are in the 7-8k range. Check out the links in Sevens post.

Bowhunr,

No problem, just hope you find a hunt that suits you best. The ibex also makes a very impressive trophy (PM or email me and I'll show you what I mean).

Out of curiosity, do you intend to use your bow on a hunt like this?
