My wife whacked one with a .22 long ago ... killed it deader than the Yankee's chances of being in the World Series this year !!! The only one that I ever shot .. with a .308 .. got away wounded into the water and disappeared .. There is no lesson or moral to any of this .. Just a reason to go back some day .. and find that capincho and finish the job with my buddy's .416 Rigby ...

.22 LRS is not a good caliber for such a big animal.
I would never use it even if it was legal.
We will stick to the .30 cal
