I hear a lot of things against them here. I am asking a serious question here. Why do you guys not like it. I know a big reason is the recall, but soon I will tell you what is was really all about.

simple, you ever looked at one?

realy, I do not like the looks of the gun, nor the way it works, I'll stay with a normal bolt, for my shooting needs

I have not filled out your poll but instead offer this link

www.sigarms.com/products/blaser-r93.asp

To also add that I have handled a Blaser and there is nothing that I like about them. They cost over $2000, are straight pull which gives me a major case of the creeps and in general are to my taste bad art.

I bought one last fall with 6.5x55 and 30-06 barrels. Am EXTREMELY pleased with it. Enough so that I have already sold a couple of custom rifles that I know won't be seeing any use now that I have the Blaser. In reading various reviews on the 'net, and talking to people, I have yet to hear anyone that owns- or has shot-one that doesn't like them.

I own 2 since 7 years, have hunted them hard and shot about 1600 rounds between them with complete satisfaction. If it wasn't for their cost, I'd buy a few more. IMHO the R93 competes with the Sauer 202 -which I own too- for the title of most accurate "out of the box" rifle.

Since I got my first R93 about 9-10 years ago (I'm coming up to my third, total of 6 barrels, come February), I have hunted with my R93s as much as I have hunted with all my other rifles put together. You can carry a round chambered in complete safety, it is short, it is accurate, it takes down for easy travel. No it would probably not be my choice for all hunts, but it covers about 95% for me - Africa to the Arctic, thus far. Try one, you won't be sorry.

Wow, I'm really happy to see that a lot of people have pulled their heads out of their asses and saw the light of reason. To tell you the truth, if I had the willpower, I would go out and buy one right now. but I'm saving up for something else, and besides, whenever I go shooting (a lot), I shoot an R93 95% of the time. Hell of a good gun, I say. I'm still amazed, although I have been looking at the for the past year, that anyone could ever make such a great rifle. It also seems that most of you now do know the recall thing, and I'm kinda running out of time, so there.

Hey fellows,
long time no hear, but now im back.
I thing the debate with the R93 is everytime the same, either you love it or you hate it.

ALthough there where some Accidents in t he past and BLASEr recalled the rifles to there fabric to make there guns safer, a new accident happened a few days ago in Germany.

Pressarticle:

red.

For our friends who are not used to read German, here is may translation, hope you can understand it
Okay.here we go

At the shooting range "Jakobsberg" at Boppard Albert H.was seriously injured as he sightened a R 93 in .300Wthy Mag in, as with the 5th shot ,the action (Radialbundverschlu)of the rifle blew up.

Albert H. was seriously injured in the face and hand, as he sightened the rifle for a friend in.
Why it came to this accident cant be said up to now, but the accident now is examined.

So better look after yiou, when shhoting your R 93 in a Magnum Calibre.

I dont know where i have read it, but some experst said that the owner of the Magnum calibres may be should give theirerifles to a local gunsmith to check the action( gas pressure) of theire guns .

All the best
Konstantin
