Well guys…..to say we had a successful weekend would be a MASSIVE understatement. I tagged along with a group of friends and clients on a corporate hunt at one of my ranches just north of Fredericksburg, TX. We took six trophy animals: two Scimitar Horned Oryx, two Axis, one Fallow, and one Whitetail.

Three of these animals were exceptional specimens. One of the Scimitar Horned Oryx will likely be in the Top 10 ever killed!! It was a bull with horns measuring 45 2/8” x 44 0/8” respectively (as far as I know, the world record is 48"). The only Whitetail killed was a HUGE buck measuring 191 3/8” gross (inside spread of 23.5”). We also took an Axis buck with the longest browtines I have ever seen or heard of…..18 inches!!

I hope you all enjoy the photos. The hunt was an absolute blast!!

DISCLAIMER: These animals were hunted behind a high fence. So if you are not a fan of the activity....I respect your opinion, but please refrain from posting any negative or derogatory comments. Thank you.

Dave’s mature Fallow buck….

Richard’s MASSIVE 45” Oryx bull….

Greg’s huge 191 3/8” Whitetail….

Greg is 6’ 9”….only he can make a 190 class Whitetail look small. Haha.

Loading Greg’s buck….225 lbs

Billy’s Axis with 18” browtines….

Another view of Greg’s buck….

Grevy’s Zebra (protected)….

MASSIVE main-frame 9 point, estimated at 180”+

Animals in the cooler….

Excellent trophies! Texas still suffers from the drought. Has there been any rain in your area recently?

As for those who provide insipid comments about high fenced hunting, they should remember every hunting area has some boundary limiting wildlife movement. The key to wildlife mangement is room to roam and room to grow!

Well done!

We got a very small amount of rain at my home last week (roughly 0.5").....but other than that, it is still dry as a bone.

Looks like a great hunt! Thanks for sharing the story and photos.

That axis looks like it's part whitetail.

Not at all....the entire property is 10,000 acres separated into four separate enclosures.....two of them being 1,000 acres each, and two of them being 4,000 acres each. The whitetail was killed in one of the 1,000 acre sections.

Thanks Eland! i usually hunt a 160 acre property with anti-hunting neighbors or a canyon at my dad's house that would go maybe 100 acres. people that get hung up on the high fence thing have too much time on their hands! (as long as it's not a 100 feet by 100 feet! hilbily )
