Bill73:

I would suggest checking out the King Ranch. I've had several good hunts there. I've taken bulls and cows. I've done the one day hunts . They are a little pricey and a bit hurried but there is a very good chance of getting an excellent bull. I've always gone during the period in March where there was little or no moon. My guide suggested that time of year for running activity and quality of the coat. When it starts getting warm they start losing hair. If you're going with friends one of their Lodge hunts might be the way to go.

Good hunting,

Another option, if you're not dead set on just a trophy would be to go the islands out of Port Mansfield. Check with the people at the "sunset motel". Real hunting and a unique adventure. I've killed two cows and one bull on two different hunts. Can also add in whitetail and some fishing. Downside is you can be stuck at shore if weather is bad for a day or two sometimes.

I had a successful and fun hunt for Nilgai in Feb of 2023 on the Yturria ranch near Raymondville, Texas. I booked the hunt through Wildlife Systems, Inc.

I highly recommend the hunt.
I used a Win M70 Super Grade in .338 Win Mag.
I shot kill.

Spent a lot of time on the various Yturria ranches as a seasonal lease member. Lots of Nilgai on Punta del Monte and La Chata. I think the guy at Wildlife Systems is Greg, but not sure.

Great ranches.
