I just talked with the rancher I guide for and told me a couple of nice blackbucks have moved onto the ranches in areas that weren't hunted for whitetail. We will be able to do another hunt right away!! If you have been waiting to go on one of these hunts, now is the time. It is all but impossible to find a free-range blackbuck hunt. I try to do at least two each year after whitetail season if there are trophy bucks on the ranches.

This hunt will be Saturday, March 26th in Camp Wood, Texas, however I can do the hunt any day between now and April 1st. I can take one hunter on this one. The cost is just $1000-a $200 daily rate and a $800 trophy fee. This is a totally free-range hunt on a working ranch.

I apologize for the short notice, but that is how these hunts work. I have guided 21 of these to date.

GREAT deal for someone!!

Doug Y. came down from Colorado for this hunt. We had a great time. He made an excellent shot at 175 yards with his 25-06.

Since I am only able to do two or three of these hunts each year, the folks usually just PM me. I have been guiding these for 11 years now. These are free-ranging animals. There is no large herd. There are always does. The rancher calls me when there are a few buck nice enough to hunt and I schedule the hunts. That is another reason these hunts are so reasonable. They are short notice, usually two to three weeks. These blackbucks run from 16" to 20". They make great trophies, but are not the 23"+ animals you see on the high-fenced game ranches. They are also much more wary. The shots have averaged 200 yards.
