Ladies and Gents,

Special trophy list with GREAT saving on day fees!

I’m offering this great discount in day fees to clients that wants a specialised, and “different” type of Plains Game hunt. Although all the species on the Trophy fee list below is available, this hunt will be to focus on the species that I make special mentioning of below!

This will be a tented Safari, and no luxuries are offered. You will have all the modern gadgets that make tent camping comfortable, but it will still be a tented camp hunt.

Species on offer:

BIG BIG BIG Kudu bull:
The Kudu will be hunted in my back yard on 20,000 acres that I have exclusive hunting rights to. This I NOT your average Kudu hunt. The terrain is very mountainous, and we will put in a lot of hard work to get the right bull. These Kudu are TOTALLY free roaming and you can therefore expect to shoot a really big bull in the 55-60” class. I suggest a nice flat shooting rifle like a 7mm Remmington, .300Win mag, or .338 Win with bonded core bullets, and of course a good scope. You can expect a 200 yard shot on this one.

Klipsringer and Mountain Reedbuck:
The same mountains are home to some of the finest Mountain Reedbuck and Klipspringer hunting alive today! This is the same area where Craig Boddington shot his (first) Klipspringer years ago! Come and experience the thrill of calling in the prince of the rocks and enjoy the wide open spaces of the mountain tops when we glaze for the Mreedbuck.

Bushpig:
I’m well known for the specialised hunting of this elusive PG trophy animal. To experience the thrill of hunting these swine over bait is really worth it!

Serval, Jackal and Porcupine:
Hunt these night creatures with me by calling them in. Each of them special and great fun to hunt.

ALL THIS for ONLY $200.00 per hunter per day!

Yes folks!

ALL THIS for ONLY $200.00 per hunter per day!

I'm all for free enterprise, but why the heck are some of you charging so much for trophy fees? I can get mountain reedbuck for $500 all day long and I can get Kudu for $1200 all day long.

Bottom line is these animals are a commodity and there are thousands of safari operators in RSA.

If you feel you can charge those prices, go for it.

His is not the cheapest Kudu you will ever see. But then again your hunting for one OVER 55 inches. I see lots for $1200-$1800 for what usually turns out to be 50-55 inches. This hunt appears to be geared more towards someone that wants exceptional animals and not just mature. Also the day fees are darn good. Lots of places are $350-400/day on the day fees. Many of the other trophy fees are competitive with other well run outfits. I've not hunted with him. Someday I'd like a reasonable chance for a 60 inch Kudu. At that time I'd have to think about an offer like this. Good hunting. Bruce

And a $500 fee for pickup and drop off at the airport? Screw that.

Compared to other outfitters those prices are all reasonable.
I did notice however that Hunter 54 has been a dickhead on every forum he has posted on today.
Nothing personal, just my casual observation.

Good, then book with them. Would like to see where you get a Southern Greater Kudu over 55" in South Africa for $1,200.00

Maybe the smaller, Cape Kudu at 50".....

AS far as airport transfers goes, it is the cost of the transfer charged by the transit company we use, you are welcome to deal direct with them to see if you can get a better rate.

I like the idea of a lower daily rate and slightly higher trophy fees. That way if the hunter wants to be very selective in choosing his animals it doesn't cost the bank in extra days hunted.

Yeah, and in the Eastern Cape, we all know that there ain't a 50" Cape Kudu hiding behind every second bush. If you are looking for big kudu, then you need to seriously look at this offer.
Great deal this, Charl!

How many days would you recommend for this hunt to take all the highlighted species?

I've seen Charl's game. He is not a B.S.'er... and you usually get what you pay for.

And, both Charl and I are big as mountains so I can respond to his offer.

Tim, if Kudu is top of the list I suggest 10 days hunt with 1 day in and 1 day out totaling 12 days on the ground in Africa.

If Kudu is secondary, the rest can be done in 7 days, with the good possibility of getting a decent Kudu in those days.

It can be a lot like Elk hunting (from what I have heard and seen on the TV) where we pass on several bulls untill we find the one that is right for you.

Below are two top class Kudu. One 60" and the other 57". Both shot on the last day of a 10 day hunt. Me and Lee passed on maybe 6 other bulls during that time, that was just not there.....and he was not picky, I AM! The hunter is our own Robert Greenlee, a fine gentleman from Texas and his darling wife! Both shot in the same mountains as this hunt is advertised in, during this past 2012 season.
Both shot over 250 yards with a 280Rem and 175gr Aframes (stand to be corrected on grains, might be 170's?)

Carl,

This is a good deal. Kudu sizes in 55-60" are scarce nowadays and at that price. I had n Spaniard in camp this past season that hunted with another outfitter paying US4 000 for a 60"...

I have never been to Africa but have been doing a lot of research and collecting info for my dream hunt over the last 5 years.

If it was a PG hunt without buffalow, I would put my deposit down on this offer - I really like the idea of a tented camp and hard hunting - do Africa the old way.

At the moment I am looking at a Zim buffalow hunt as my first African safari - I dream that it will be Sept 2013 ......

For anyone contemplating this hunt, go to page five of African Hunt Reports and you can read my narrative. Kudu was #1 on my list and this is great Kudu country. Charl and crew work hard and get results. As he said, I would have been happy with a good representative trophy. What I got, and then my wife got, was truly, beyond our wildest dreams! Bring some good boots though, it is rocky and a bit mountainous. Those pictures dont really show how steep it was up there, my Kudu probably slid downhill 15 yards or so before a tree stopped him. A great hunt!

Charl,

I too like to non-standard approach to pricing with a lower daily rate and higher trophy rate. Frankly, you are accepting a bit more of the risk than does the client -- as a potential client, I appreciate it.
