In conjunction with our French hunting partner we offer Mid Asian Ibex and Maral hunts in Kazakhstan.
Ibex Hunts: Hunters fly into Almaty city (ALA former capital), where you will enter the country and clear your rifles. Depending upon the hunter’s preferences and the type of hunt you are interested in there are different areas for Ibex. Our largest trophy this year was 128 cms (50”+). Ibex can be hunted within a three hour drive of Almaty city.

Cost of Hunt: 5,000 Euros – includes one Ibex. 2nd ibex 2,000 Euros
Number of hunting days: 5 days

If you wish to hunt both Ibex and Maral (the two main species), there are two options available:

Option 1
Complete your Ibex hunt first as detailed above and then transfer to our Maral area in Oskemen (former Ust-Kamenogorsk - UKK) in the north - a one hour flight.
Cost of hunt: 15,000 Euros includes one Ibex and one Maral stag any size.
Number of hunting days: 15 days

Option II
If only Maral is targeted, arrive in Astana (TSE, new capital) where you will clear rifles then travel to Oskemen (former Ust-Kamenogorsk - UKK). While hunting Maral there is also an opportunity of taking Ibex, Brown bear (Grizzly type), Wolf and Siberian Roe deer. Bear and wolf are targets of opportunity and can be taken if you see them. Ibex and Roe deer are both available. Ibex permits are very limited in this area and the trophy quality is not as good as the Ibex areas in the south. Roe deer are plentiful at certain times of the year.


Cost of hunt:
Maral stag only: 10,000 Euros, 2nd Maral stag 4,000 Euros – limited permits available, need to specify before hand.

Ibex trophy fee if taken: 2,000
Brown bear trophy fee if taken: 3,500
Siberian Roe deer trophy fee if taken: 1,000
Wolf trophy fee if taken: 1,000
Number of hunting days: 10 days
Cost of hunt includes:
Experienced English speaking European guide
Meet and greet at the airport
All travel during the hunt
All meals – traditional wholesome home cooked fare
Skinning and field care of trophy

International and local flights

Description of hunt:
These are 100% fair chase, wilderness, spot and stalk hunts, where both base and spike camps (tents) will be used. Every effort will be made to tailor the hunt to the hunter’s fitness level, however to enjoy the hunt and ensure success a fair level of fitness and ability to walk in the mountains is required. Horses/mules will be used during these hunts and while these are calm animals some experience of riding will come in handy. To ensure your success practice shooting at up to 400 yards+, most shots are around 300 yards.

Dates:
Ibex – Mid August to end December
Maral – 1st September to 10th of October.
Depending upon the species you wish to hunt, we will discuss the best dates with you.

Success rate:
Maral: 100% shot opportunity
Ibex: 100% shot opportunity
Siberian Roe deer: 100% shot opportunity at the right time of the year
Brown bear: target of opportuntity
Wolf:target of opportuntity

Trophy care:
Skins will be salted and dried ready for transport. Skulls, horns and antlers will be fleshed and cleaned. Depending upon your destination, you can take them home with you as additional luggage or they can be shipped later.

As one who now works in Kazakhstan a hunt there is darn tempting.

Away we go Maral hunting if anyone is interested, first group goes in around 18th sept - 30th Sept. in 10 days of hunting you can expect chances at 3 world class bulls. One has to be prepared for longish shots around 400 yards. A real adventure, camping and horse back hunt in wild country. Chance at Asian Brown bear (grizzly type), wolf, siberian roe deer.
