Alpine Reindeer in Iceland - Aug/Sept 2025

Folks,

An opportunity for participation in the annual Reindeer cull, administered by the Icelandic Government.

First released in the 1700s, the deer numbers have consolidated in the Eastern Fjord
area of the island. An annual count establishes current numbers and on this basis the
cull figures are released by .gov scientists, ensuring the population does not exceed the
carrying capacity of the area.

You will need to be physically fit and mobile as this is alpine hunting at its finest. We use
4WD & ATVs until the tracks end, then climb above towering sea cliffs to the hanging
valleys where Reindeer fatten in the summer.

We have recently returned from another successful trip to Iceland – ALL hunters having the
opportunity to take a Reindeer bull in a totally unique landscape. This brings our results over the years, to 28 hunts conducted, with 26 of these hunters taking their beast during day one.

Obviously, weather can influence this run, however it seems likely
that you will have the opportunity to shoot your Bull on the first day.

We have also extended our river access to a further 16km of awesome salmon fishing
(several excellent Salmon taken during our visit) over water that also has great numbers of big Brown trout and Arctic Char.

Geese numbers will vary depending on food availability, however with over
18,000 acres permission, we should be able to find one or two!

We are primarily hunting in the alpine areas to the south of the block. These offer high
numbers of deer and limited numbers of hunters, mainly because of the difficulties in
access. This rough terrain means that hunting 2-1 is not viable - the ground is just too
extreme to attempt to extract two carcasses and three men on a single ATV.

Hunt Costs 2025
Hunt to be conducted between 21st August and 4th September 2025

Icelandic Reindeer Bull: £2350 / $2975
Reindeer Cow: £1980 / $2510

*one day 1-1 guided hunting,
*two days opportunity for Game fishing & Goose shooting.
*up to 3 days food & accommodation,

River access (from midday to 8pm) costs around £110/ $140, if required. Fish that you choose
to keep will generally be cooked and served as your evening meal.

Season runs from
15th July to 15th Sept, mature bulls being in hard antler (under velvet) from mid
August.

Goose season opens from the 20th August allowing you to enjoy a combination
Reindeer/Geese/Game Fishing safari.

Should you be interested in joining us and entering the draw for a 2025 tag, then please
let me know shortly and we can make a plan.

Best wishes and looking forward to hunting with you in the coming year!

I was just in Iceland with a rifle in August while in transit to Greenland. I had no problems.
