I hunted there in 2009, plenty of buffalo then and tremendous amounts of zebra and blue wildebeest, plus the other common plains game, and croc and hippo in the river.
I struck out on lion, but had a good hunt none the less.

Still very good buffalo numbers, unfortunately I’m not very clued up on how to upload photos of buff hunted over the last few seasons.

Chief Tshovani and Thompson Zvinavashe have grabbed 50 percent shareholding in Impala Ranch, again without bringing in even a cent. But Zvinavashe, son of the late former commander of Zimbabwe’s Defence Forces, General Vitalis Zvinavashe, has a letter of “use of land on caretakership basis” for the 1885ha ranch. The late Zvinavashe’s real first name was Thompson, a name he also gave his son.

Impala Ranch was auctioned by National Parks, The company I work for bought it on public auction. Zvinavashe was allocated a small piece of land that was formerly part of impala ranch(LESS THAN 20%). He has a separate quota for his small section and this in no way affects how we manage and run Impala Ranch. I suggest you get your facts together before you publish something like this that has the potential to damage the reputation of someone that is actually putting in the time, money and effort to conserve and protect wildlife.

Since taking over management of the property we decided not to hunt Leopard for 5 years to enable us to carry out surveys etc. Through spoor surveys and data from sightings we have decided to hunt them this year as the numbers are as good as any in the Save Valley Conservancy. I believe this hunt will be successful but one can never be sure with Leopard. The success rate from the previous operator was as high as 75% I believe.
