Greg Browlee did a great job in describing the PG hunt specials on the Bubye Conservancy that Pete Fick has to offer but Pete also has some very inexpensive buff and ele bull hunts on offer.

The Bubye as a lot of you know has loads of game and this allows them to offer some super deals for the next two seasons.

Accommodations and services are excelent and even though I have not been on the Bubye I think you'll find an AR search will produce glowing references and excellent comments on Pete himself.

Various dates are open throughout '12 and '13 so let's discuss what works for you.

Pricing:

2012 1x1 7 day buff (under 36")$1,100 per day TF $2,500
2013 1x1 7 day buff (under 36")$1,150 per day
TF $2,650

2012 OR 2013 1X1 10 day ele bull $1,100 per day TF $5,000

In the case of the buffalo you will be looking for old bulls that will never be a real "trophy". Elephant may be old bulls but they specifically will be under 30# per side. For the hunter looking for an inexpensive hunting "experience" and not too concerned about size this could be a perfect opportunity to hunt a superb area.

I've asked Pete for TF's for additional animals available on these hunts.

Extras:

Zim taxes
Road transfer
Dip/pack
MARS
Hotels if necessary
International trophy shipping ans airfare

Mark,
I take it the elephant is non-exportable as well. Thanks!

And is the Bubye Conservancy the old "Lemco" Conservancy now?

Thought so... thanks! Wonderful hunting country! My first safari was on Lemco way back in 1994! I believe it was owned by a British consortium back then. I hunted with Simon Rodger's Tsankaruka Safaris and my PH was John Greeff... man that was a fine experience!

It looks like road transfers are not included in the price of the hunt. What is the charge for the transfer and to what airport does one fly?

Are these Ele and Buff from a "ration" hunt quota?

What happens if the PH underestimates the tusks and they go over 30lbs?

Just make sure you don't hunt with Adam Clements Safari Tracker's Outfit in Zim called, Jimba Safaris per below:
quote:
Safari Co. name is Jimba Safaris, owner is Wayne Dietrechsen. My PH and Waynes right hand man (his words not mine) was Tim Lamprecht.

Jimba might willfully overestimate the size of the elephant given this thread: Bad Problem with Zim Outfitter, Client & Adam Clements

Pete Fick is a good guy. He hunted with Mokore for years. Bubye Valley Conservancy is one of the premier areas in Africa. There are a select few outfitters hunting there.

Another friend if mine is operating on BVC and was given some of this quota also. It is 100% legal, exportable, and ethical. The guys that own and run BVC do not put up with any bs from their operators.

It shows a lot of class to crap on a thread that has nothing to do with what happened in Sij. I am sure Pete Fick appreciates it.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I hunted buffalo with Pete Fick two years ago. He is a very experienced and ethical PH, and great company. Whoever gets to hunt with him is in for an amazing experience.
