Folks,

Two tags were drawn for each of the 52 hunting zones in Limpopo Province this year - a primary tag and a "back-up" tag.

In terms of current regulations, the primary tag holder must conduct his leopard hunt before July 31st and if the hunt is unsuccessful, the tag will be passed on to the Outfitter who drew the back-up" tag. I drew the "back-up" tag for my zone for 2015.

So far, no result has been reported by the Outfitter who drew the primary tag in my zone which could mean that the hunt is still in progress or has not yet been conducted. Either way; the deadline is just over a month away...

This means that there is a possibility that I might have a leopard tag available at the end of July. There are two caveats though: first being that I have to source a client and conduct my hunt before the end of Sept, 2015. And the next that I have limited availability In these two months.

Now legally I may not advertise or sell a leopard hunt without a valid tag in hand. There is however nothing stopping me from now already putting the word out there that such a hunt might become available and tentatively setting dates with interested parties.

I like how Glenn priced his Zimbabwean hunt - also advertised here on this forum and some might remember that I did the same when I offered the last Limpopo leopard hunt I drew a tag for back in 2011.

So here goes:

Daily Rates - $650pd x 14 = $9,100
Trophy Fee - $11,000

Bait animals (non trophy):

Impala / Warthog - $150
Kudu female - $400

The hunt will be conducted on several private ranches in the Waterberg Mountain region near Lephalale. The ranches vary in size between 5,000 acres and 15,000 acres (not that the size of the properties or fences play a role in leopard hunting). In total I have more than 40,000 acres available to hunt leopard on and this is good leopard country. One property in particular has lots of leopard activity and we come across fresh leopard kills frequently when hunting for other species.

As stated previously, I can't sell this hunt just yet as the tag has not been allocated. I therefore do not require a hunt contract or deposit for the hunt at this point. I just want to put the word out there that this is an opportunity that might come up and invite any interested parties to contact me so that we can discuss potential dates and details.
