Looks like an awesome offer, I would love to do a cast and blast the day I go for a bear.
Question: I love eating the stuff I hunt, if I shoot black bear, could I get some prepared while hunting there? I have read that the black bear is the tasty bear?
Question 2: What is the average size of atlantic salmon you can catch?

Good luck with your offerSmiler

Yes, you can eat some Bear while in camp. I've eaten Bear before and it was great. Only caution is, it must be cooked thoroughly like pork. Average Atlantic Salmon there is 5-10 pounds. You can take your meat home if feasible (local air freight is available) or they will donate it for you to needy people.

Can you describe "traditional Newfoundland food"?

What is the best way to get to camp?

DB, travel options are:
AIR TRAVEL:
Newfoundland is serviced by Air Canada and affiliates Air Nova and Air Atlantic.

Airline connections can be made directly to the Province from most major North American airports. Your destination upon arrival will be Stephenville or Deer Lake. They can meet you at the airport but pickup and return runs around $200. Can be split between 2 or more hunters depending upon gear. 60 lbs is the recommended max.

LAND TRAVEL:
If you wish to drive, you will travel to North Sydney (in the Province of Nova Scotia) and take the Marine Atlantic car ferry to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.
You can drive in from there to Irving (about 100km). They're a hour from the ferry at Port Aux Basque and would meet you at their meeting point right on the trans Canada highway.

Food:
Big hardy meals, Supper might be a big beef roast, moose with gravy and vegetables, dessert, or turkey dinner, glazed ham and scalloped potatoes with a few other things. Cod fish dinner, soups with some meals, desserts with all meals. Some nights they'll have a big boil up of fresh mussels, scallops, even lobsters at times, depending on the time of year.

The cast and blast seems pretty interesting, if you opt for that upgrade does the trip extend for an extra day or two or is it all still packed into 5 days?

JCS, yes, it's 5 days as you have time during morning/midday to fish. Extra days can be added if available, but with the number of bears in Newfoundland, I'd say you'll have plenty of time to fish. Remember, a second Bear is only $1,000 extra.
