Well, I guess the bright side of the 15% tax is the Zebra trophy fee on a bait Zebra is $500 rather than say $1000 you would regularly pay..I'd be whacking a couple of zebras for 8 baits. I don't understand the logic of an additional tax for NOT exporting an animal? The logic of a wounded and lost tax ( penalty ?) ? | |||

Logic is a foreign concept to the African mind. It seems greed is the only motivating factor they understand. I've been to Africa 14 times and all flights have been to or through Joberg. Thirteen of the flights have been on SAA. With the new gun fares implemented by SAA combined with the hassle of SAPS I won't hunt RSA again or travel through Joberg. I liked the morning flight on SAA out of New York since it got me to Joberg early enough to make connecting flights to Namibia or Botswana. I checked my bags to my final destination so no SAPS in Joberg. I always take two guns on my trips so that route would now cost me an extra $640 due to the recently implemented SAA gun charges.
