The whole carcass is burnt, why? If that is correct, what an incredible waste.

For sure! The meat could at least make up for the villagers' loss of crops.

Is this hunt conducted in the Tuli block? Or where? Wondering where else there are irrigation and high fences (game ranches) in Bots.

sorry for delay in responding
All pg hunts are conducted during daylight as are any problem elephant being destroyed.
The area is northern Botswana just south of the Chobe and south east of the Okavango delta - Maun being the closest Town.
The camp takes 4 people and a PH ( 3 units ) .
The carcase is burnt as the problem elephant originate in what is called the red area and break through into what is called a vet green area. Any buffalo or elephant shot have to be burnt to destroy and disease they may carry across to the green area. We see on average about 15-20 bulls during a plains game hunt so you can imagine the damage made by these bulls.
Any buffalo seen will also be destroyed as we see them as they are not tolerated at all in the green zone.
I unfortunately go out to the concession today and return on friday so please excuse the delay in any further responses. Please note that Mike can answer many of the questions as well - his email appeared earlier.
Kind regards ,
Graeme

Have just returned from hunting the first trophy bull of the season with AR member Brennan Coyler , Brennan shot a 42 inch tip to lip bull bull with 17 inch circum that should weigh in at around 57-60 pounds all going well and small nerve. Brennan dropped the bull just one hour into the 2012 hunting season , it dropped 9 paces from where we were standing in full charge, landing with its front feet stretched through between its back legs and trunk extended in our direction. Brennan is in Vic Falls and will I am sure post a hunt report with photos. This hunt has welded a friendship that will last a life time and it was a great honour to hunt with Brennan and his family and to see a man committed to his family, his number one priority was that the size of the elephant was irrelevant if they could not be close with him on this hunt . No money could buy the memories made on this hunt. BC can also report back on the pac elephant - he saw one leopard but it ran off. The trophy hunt took place in the neighbouring NG 47 concession and the plains game hunt on Sable Game Ranch.

It is a corker!!!!! As I have said before, Graeme is top shelf, and I'd give my left you know what to go back again next year! I am working on family members right now to get one of those PAC hunts booked. By the way, we did not see one Leopard......We saw TWO.
