Moose in the Wrangell Mountains: Expectations should be for a shooting opportunity or multiple opportunities on a bull in the high 50's to 70 inches and grizzlies are always around. The dates are early season when the moose are in the high alpine and very visible making for a perfect spot and stalk hunt although there might be some rutting activity on the combo since it can go well into Sept.

This hunt is very remote. You'd fly to Anchorage, overnight there, rent a car and drive to Chitina the next day. Kelly will meet you there and fly you into base camp. From base camp you will spike out on horseback. This is a real wilderness hunt and you'll see no locals in the hunting area.

Emmy and I went with Kelly for a grizzly hunt a couple of years ago. Every single part of the hunt was top notch.

We really enjoyed the drive to the airstrip, Kelly's planes are quite well maintained, His horses are hardy, the guides tough and intelligent gentlemen, the food quite tasty (if not fancy) scenery is spectacular and most importantly, the game is there.

This offer is a really, really good deal. It is typical Alaska wilderness hunting, wet, windy and some hills and mountains.... but if you want a fine moose and a great chance at a nice blond griz.... go for it!
