I have a question Mark,

Why did you post this in the "Hunting Reports" Forum?

Somebody did recently post a hunt report on one of Mark's lion offers. Maybe that is what confused Mr. Young.

Thanks Mark, I am proud to say that I feel I have developed a rather complex pallete for these deals.

Seriously though, someone who is interested in hunting wild Africa would be missing a true opportunity to pass this up.

What are reasonable expectations of success for leopard on this hunt?

JDB,

As you probably are aware late season is not ideal for leopards but they still have to eat and a juicy leg from one of the PG animals you took might just be a T-bone to a big tom. I think you would have to consider the leopard a target of opportunity. It won't cost a thing to hang some baits so why not try. If you were serious about pursueing the leoapard we could arrange for some pre baiting which considering the short duration of the hunts could help a lot.

I never saw a picture of the lion that the Great Terry Anders took this year. Can you post a picture?

We also haven't seen the picture of the taken leopard from this season, which has been for sale here several times. We tried out for it as well. Another sad story to tell.

Its amazing that when I was there in June, Terry did not have any cat quotas left for the year. So either they failed multiple times or people cancelled? The 2nd or 3rd lion hunter(confusion on how many times they hunted the lion or who it was offered to) was due in sometime in November. How did that hunter fare? It would be good to let people Terry's success rates since I am sure Terry is looking to book people for this year.

I don't have an ax to grind w Mr. Young. My only thought is you should know what you are selling, visit the outfitter and their camps and know their track record when representing someone. Am I pissy w Mr Anders for over promising and under delivering and giving me the worst hunting experience in 8 safaris you bet. Just pissy- no way. A great safari to Tanzania in the SW in November with a wonderful company/ph, hunted desert big horn in my home state with a governors tag at the beginning of December and the week after took my 7 year old son on a deer/ Javelina hunting in W Texas as I hunted Aoudad and Red Sheep with Rowdy McBride(you can read about the write up in this months hunting report that they did a feature on). So with a great wife, 2 awesome kids who I am going snowboarding with this weekend, and a few great hunts coming up this year to Cameroon for Bongo, the Yukon for Dall and grizzly, and possibly a Marco Polo hunt you could say I am pretty damn happy!
