Folks, Above is a photo of our last client's lion taken two weeks ago in Burkina Faso. The client will post a full report when he returns home with more pics. In the meanwhile a one off opportunity to shoot a lion in the Presidents private reserve, which is one of the best areas in the country for lion and has been closed for hunting for the last 3 years has come up! The operator we work with in Burkina has just informed me that he has got special permission as there are too many lions in the preserve and the powers that be figured shooting one of them will solve their lion problems! Once the lion is taken, you can also shoot one roan OR one buffalo on this hunt. But be clear that the lion is the MAIN quarry. The conditions to track and shoot a lion is the best at the moment as the game and lions are concentrated around what little water is left as it is the peak of their summer! It is a 10 day hunt - to be taken this month or next month only. Daily rate - 15,000 Euros - aprx $20,500 Trophy fee Lion - 1500 euros Buffalo - 500 euros Roan - 500 euros big game licence - 320 euros firearms licence - 110 euros/rifle (you can also use one the PHs rifles he has quite a few to select from). Included in the daily rate: Transport to camp Full board and lodging in air conditioned bungalows (units) Soft drinks and mineral water European style kitchen/menu Hunting vehicle and all transportation during the hunt Professional hunter Trackers Skinners Not Included: Hunting license: 320 Euros per hunter Firearms license: 110 per rifle Bar / Liquor bill Non hunter / observer daily rate: 170 Euros Hotel stay and meals before and after hunt in Ouagadougou – 60 Euros/night approximately. Tips Crating, paperwork and shipping of trophies (Burkina lions are importable into the States). This is a great opportunity to hunt a lion by tracking them, no baiting allowed in Burkina. As in the photo above Burkina lions do not have manes, some of them have more of a ruff than the one above, but that's your luck. I hope I can make someone's wild lion hunting dream come true! Here are some more pics of Burkina lions: To get there, fly to Paris and then to Ouagadougou where your PH will meet you at the airport. Thanks for looking.
