Gentlemen, the kind of vehicles required for the task cost $300 per day on a hire basis, excluding fuel and driver costs. On a take & return basis, they are on the clock for six days each way, thus adding to 12 days and originate from Dar es salaam which is a 30 hour straight drive to camp (approx. 1,400kms).

Last year I used three vehicles for each transfer and needed them all due to terrain, punctures, river crossings and cargo. They were personally owned & are ready to dispose.

As with the charter arrangements in pipeline, there is a bridge due for completion, which is going to cut a day off the travel, but until it is completed, transfer is part of the safari.

On the last transfer of the season, the lucky hunter may indeed get to keep the truck ; )
