ChrisTroskieUpdated "Pen raised" Buffalo - fresh from the auction - ADD A BUFF COW FOR $3,500!!!
Sorry, I lied... I'm sure some of you got all excited about shooting buffalo in a pen but seeing I have your attention...
These are not pen-raised buffalo, NONE of them were bought at an auction and none of them has a name. At last count there were more than 400 buffalo on this 20,000 acre conservancy next to Kruger in the Eastern Lowveld of South Africa and during this hunt you will have a chance of hunting one of them. There is no restriction on trophy size for this hunt. I.e. whether you end up shooting a 44" or 38" bull the price remains the same. Obviously we will target the best possible specimen during this 7 day hunt.
The hunting area is roughly 5 hours drive East of Johannesburg Int Airport and accommodation will be provided in a very comfortable lodge comprising of private chalets with en suite bathrooms.
All meals, drinks (incl alcohol in moderation) are included as are a daily laundry service and services of PH, Trackers, Skinners and Camp Staff.
Essentially all you need to do is to get to OR Tambo Int Airport and back and take care of your own dipping / shipping / taxidermy bill.
During this hunt you're likely to encounter Elephant, Rhino, Hippo and several other African species as all occur on the same property.
Price of Package: $12,000 which includes:
Road transfer from and to OR Tambo International Airport or Nelspruit Domestic Airport.
1 x Arrival day
5 X Hunting Days
1X Departure Day
1 X Buffalo Bull
Should we be unsuccessful in giving you a shooting opportunity at a decent buffalo bull you will be eligible to a refund of $5,000 which will be paid back to you before you depart.
Other species that might be of interest to prospective buyers and are available to hunt during same safari:
Hippo - $5,500
Sable - $8,975
Plains game species such as Kudu, Red Duiker, Mountain Reedbuck, Impala and several others may also be hunted during the same safari. It might be necessary to change hunting camps depending on what is on your wish list though.
For more details please contact me.
Available dates are between 10th and 20th of April 2014.

IMO 20K acres of South African bush qualifies as both free chase and free range. This is a good deal and if I wasn't already committed for this year I might jump on it. Good luck to Chris in selling this hunt.
Cheers,
Mike

Mark RThanks Mike.
20K acres is a lot of country for sure and I'm not arguing the merits for or against free range and fairchase.
My question stands for Chris.
Cheers,
Mark.

Sorry but if it is high-fence or other containment 20,000 acres is not 'free-range'.

Matt GrahamObviously your definition of 'free-range' is different to others. What actually is your definition? Free-ranging and fair chase are not the same thing.
Sorry, dont want to spoil your thread Chris. continue...

Mark RI asked the question and still don't have the answer. I would still like it answered. Is it behind wire or not. Fair chase it can be free range it can't be if it is behind the wire. Not saying right or wrong but just want to know???
Pretty simple really......
Cheers,
Mark.
