This hunt is still open and ravenr called this AM with an update: ravenr just finished an archery elk hunt on this ranch. He told me they saw 25 bulls with 6 being 300 B&C-330 B&C. He's expecting for it to be quite easy to take good bulls on the opener of rifle season 1-5 Oct. There will be no hunters on the ranch from now until the rifle opener.


We have a couple of tags available for the bull elk rifle season opening Oct 1 in NE New Mexico. I hunted on the ranch myself and it is beautiful. The owners are the nicest folks you'd want to meet and the accommodations are in a older but spotless private home on the ranch. ravenr has hunted the ranch a an "Agent" of the ranch owner for the last six years and has been 100% successful on bull elk.

Expectations should be for a 300 class 6 point with larger definitely possible. If a hunter chooses he can also shoot a meat bison on a trophy fee basis.

The closest town is Folsom, NM and you'll probably want to fly into Colorado Spring that is 2.5 hours away from the ranch, rent a car and drive to the ranch.

That first 5 days of Oct the bulls could still be responding to the call which would make the hunt even more exciting.

Pricing:

1x1 5 days $6,950. 2X1 $6,450 If the bull scores over 375 B&C there will be a $2,000 additional trophy fee. Hunt includes food/lodging, 5 full days of hunting, field prep of trophies and assistance with meat processing and taxidermy services. You'll also have me as a camp cook and bartender which ain't a bad thing.

Lic/Tag
Meat processing
Taxidermy as necessary
Transportation to the ranch.

Bring a rifle if you can, and if not, I'll make sure you have access to one. We can even take care of the meat, as I'm all set up to process. This is just up the road from me; half day's drive or so.
