John Du Plooy has been allocated 2 elephant bulls for '11. He has sold the first bull and it will be hunted this coming May. There had been some questions as to whether US,F&W would in fact issue the CITES permits but as of today Laura Du Plooy in a phone conversation this AM says she has the documentation from US,F&W assuring them that the CITES permit will be issued within 10 days for the client hunting in May. SO the second bull is now for sale first come first serve. John tells me in October the elephant will all be right along the river and there is a chance of taking a very big bull. Expectations should be for a minimum of 50# plus and 60#-70# likely. The price is not outrageous at all considering the possibilities and the added attraction of hunting in an area that has been closed for decades. Pricing: Daily rates 1x1 14 days $19,000 Government concession fee US$6,000 Trophy fee of elephant US$15,000 Dip and Pack US$1500 Bird Licence, GMA, Firearm permit and local shipping agent handling fee of trophies at the airport on export US$1000 Total US$42,500 Extra All other trophy fees (may hunt all species except lion and leopard) Charter fees Visa on arrival Duty on ammo on arrival Lusaka hotel if applicable (DuPlooy's guest wing is available free of charge to all their hunters) Gratuities to PH and camp staff All insurances Export air freight of trophies from Zambia Please contact me anytime with your questions.
