It's been many years since I've hunted Charara with Peter Johnstone and Roy Vincent, but I remember it as a wonderful, wild concession with nice rewards for effort.

I'll never forget seeing 3 Black rhinos (bull, cow, calf) together at about 20 yards while hunting bushbuck along a small stream. We saw lots of rhino tracks there, but that was about 30 years ago. My hunting partner killed a fantastic buffalo, his first ever, that was heavy bossed and over 44" wide. There was fantastic buffalo hunting in Charara back then.

This is a sweet deal and the tiger fishing the second half of October should be great, as long as you can take the heat. If I had not just returned from Namibia I would be all over this.

STAY IN THE FIGHT!

I willb e visiting Peter this year as I did last. He is quite a gentleman and so much Zim history with his experiences. I depart for Zim later today and have packed my three double rifle books as a gift to him.

Cal, if you see this in time, please tell Peter that Dan Sozzi sends his warmest regards. I haven't seen him in quite a long time, though we do keep in touch through Facebook. He seems to be doing well. We shared some great times together, both in Zim as well as here in California.

Cal-

When you see Peter Johnstone this year, tell him hello from Mark in Texas. I have stayed at his ranch twice and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with him on the deck overlooking the water hole. In fact, my next door neighbor's son is interning for the Johnstones this summer and fall. Tell Juliet hello also.

Thanks,

Mark

Wow, what a deal! I would think that even a Warthog hunt with the world-renowned Buzz Charlton would be over $30K! :-)
