11 Nights with 10 Full Hunting Days for 2 hunters, hunting 1x1. Offer is only valid for 2015.

1x Cape Buffalo

Second hunter has choice to hunt plains game with his own PH or accompany other hunter.

$13,000 total.( Day Fees for both hunters and Trophy Fee included.)

Hunter needs to be relatively fit. You will see plenty of Buffalo. The Herd is between 70-100 strong with quite a few hard bossed bulls around. No guarantees that you will get a Cape Buffalo. This is not a project bull or pen hunt, but a Cape Buffalo hunt that will match anything that Africa has to offer. Terrain is mountainous, with thick vegetation. Hunting method will be walk and stalk and tracking on foot.
Last hunter, took his bull one hour before dark on day 8. (Final Day)

I would advise anyone interested, to look at using a .375, and be relatively comfortable out to 180yds. This is about the distance between the valley faces. Shot will either be across the valley, or really, really close range.

This hunt has become available due to a change in hunt location, so we have one Cape Buffalo left for this area for the year.

Cape Buffalo Trophy Fee - $10,000. (Fully Refundable if not taken.)

Hunters may add game at trophy price list rate found here: http://www.huntsafaris.co.za/saprice.php

Can you enlighten me?
The top says trophy fee and daily rate is included.
A bit below is a trophy fee for the buffalo.

Hi Cal,
Thank you for the question.
The price of $13,000 includes the trophy fee for 1x Cape Buffalo and the day fees for two hunters. You do not need to be two hunters/people. We can adjust the price, should there only be one person.

The trophy fee of $10,000 is merely stated to inform what the trophy fee is and what will be refunded, should a Cape Buffalo not be taken.

Best Regards,
Marius

.
If I read this right - it is USD 3.000 for 10 days hunting and USD 10.000 for a hard boss buff !

Shame that I do not have the time this year and am all booked up as this looks like a great deal.

Charlie, you are 100% correct.
I fully understand that this is not the cheapest Buff hunt around, but this is the real deal. You might work hard and get nothing for it after 10 days. Heck, you might get it on the first morning. Only time will tell on this one.

Marius, in countries such as Tanzania, Mozambique or Zimbabwe, I would expect that in a depleted area, or communal land where there are no resident buffalo, this might be the case. But assuming one is hunting in a well-managed open concession with realistic quotas, has a good hunting team, and a decent road system, it is reasonable to assume that in a 10-day span a hunter will shoot a hard-bossed buffalo. And in huge fenced areas like the Save Conservancy or Bubye Conservancy, I couldn't imagine a failure to shoot unless one was very particular and chose not to.

Sure hunts fail, but I am struggling to see how a buffalo hunt in South Africa in a fenced ranch/area would be so "hard core" and pose such a challenge....assuming one is not looking in the wrong places and/or not otherwise making it hard.

The bush is thick in a lot of areas, but buffalo feed and they move to/from water, they cross dirt tracks, they make noise and smell and attract egrets, and they often have favorite places to bed and shelter in. Generally speaking their typical whereabouts are known, and once recent tracks are found, even a hacker tracker can locate a herd.

I am not trying to be contentious, but I have been to Africa enough to be suspicious about the validity of your statements.....so please educate, what is so unique about THIS buffalo hunt as compared to other buffalo hunts that South Africa has to offer?

Please don't get me wrong, your pricing and emphasis on the trophy fee looks very reasonable and fair. And there is certainly a place in the market for an attractively-priced "more challenging than average South African buffalo hunt", if indeed this is the case.

Regards,

Bill

Having hunted with Marius, I would not have the least doubt in the world that it's exactly as he says it is.

Bill,
Thank you for your concerns. What makes this such a challenging hunt is the terrain and vegetation. Please find a photo of probably what you are use to:

Here is a photo of the type of terrain where this hunt is conducted:

The previous hunt we could have had a buff on day 4, had it been a hard bull standing just 15 yds away from us feeding. It was not our lucky day.
I pulled out of a stalk on day 5, not being able to see the bull a mere 20 paces from us in the thick shrub, being radioed in by means of having "eyes" on a vantage point. Light was very low at that stage.
On day 6, Another soft bull giving us the chance.
On day 7, an old Dagga boy was on his way towards us a mere 100yds away. Stopped with his entire body behind a bush, only his head and neck sticking out. He changed course, disappearing into the thick stuff.
They do move around Bill, but the open spaces are between 140-180yds away.
They do also drink water, but only at night.
Three of the days during the 8 day hunt, was close to 100deg F. Still, they drink at night.

Wish I could type more, but leaving in the morning on a Hyena hunt, and have to take care of some stuff.

All the best,
Marius
