Anyone know of a booking agent that handles hunters looking to do the turkey slam. Any experiences or leads appreciated.

Will Parks does this hunt several times every year. He posts here occasionally under “safari-lawyer”.

Taxidermist David Luke in Breaux Bridge Louisiana takes several groups to Mexico for Oscillated usually in March. I got mine with him. He also takes several groups to Mexico for Gould’s I’m going with him next April. He can help you with the rest. The thing about him is that he has several dates a year with the best outfitters in Mexico and those dates are exclusively for him and his hunters. He is usually in the camp for all the hunts and prepares all the birds for taxidermy. Very good contact for the slam. He has several slams himself.

Contact Bill Farley, at Farley's Adventures...he's literally taken turkeys in every single state in the country, Mexico, etc. He's your guy IMO.

I hate to post here to show my stupidity, but what the hell is a turkey slam? Never heard of such a thing and I hunt turkey every April in Kansas.

Cal... a relatively new item in the SCI Awards Program. I am surprised they do not have a Ratite Slam. Wink

If one is a Turkey hunter , they know what the slam is and it has nothing to do with SCI.

Check Jeff Budz. He is the king of the slams.

Generally, the slam is taking the eastern, Merriam, rio and Osceola. I believe there is a second slam that includes the Gould’s and the oscillated as well. The latter is called a world slam.

Cal the Gould’s can be taken in Arizona and New Mexico but it is a limited draw and hard to get. That’s why most people choose to go to Mexico to harvest one. They are also one of the larger subspecies of Turkey.

There are bush turkeys in Australia, but they aren't a turkey at all, they are something else.

Saw them in far north Queensland.

I’ve seen oscellated turkeys many times in Guatemala. They are pretty small, compared with the turkeys we have here in Wisconsin, but they are really beautiful. Quite colorful, sort of like a peacock.
