IH, for that price I'm guessing it's for only 1 of the Precious game. If you want to take a second an upgrade fee of €9000 is to be paid. That's how I understand it.

I may be wrong, but my understanding of the former French colonies' way of doing things is you get one premier animal and you have to pick it before the license is issued. Correct me if I am wrong, please.

Assuming this is CAWA Safaris, they are operating with no problems this season.

I have received two emails from CAWA in the last month, they have taken good bongo, giant forrest hog, YB duiker, etc. and are having a very successful season.

so the people killed around the Bangui airport on the road into the city are just an aberration? the Christian militia that the French/African Union peacekeepers have been disarming throughout the capital are not really a problem? the Muslim minority lynched and hacked to death during an evac effort didn't really die? i guess once again the BBC and UN High Commissioner for Refugees got it wrong. i fully understand that out in the countryside things may be different. but to get there you have to fly to Bangui and transit onward. no thanks.

I would, no problem. But I've never been scared of my own shadow! Cool

However, I would not recommend most clients to go there - simply because folks then think you are only trying to sell a hunt, not consider your clients welfare. I do however have a client from TX who booked his 3 week safari with CAWA quite some time ago, he's aware of all the issues, talked to Erik personally, and he's set to leave for the CAR soon. I'm sure he will have a great time!

Hi Matt,

Would I hunt in CAR this year?

I personally would, but I wouldn't convince somebody else too. Does that make sense? The company I'm associated with NOA, made alternative arrangements and moved all operations to Cameroon, so I moved with them.

I know for a fact that CAWA have been hunting as usual, with only a couple cancellations. Good for them, but I'll admit that since 2006 when I started hunting in CAR, this has been the worst it's been, as far as unrest, turmoil, fighting goes and I'm personally not there on the ground as we speak.
