Folks,

I have 2 spots available for a Muskox hunt in Greenland.

We used a 300 Win mag

Time permitting you can go for a ride on a dog sled

Ideal for bow hunters

Behind us is the start of the Polar ice cap!

Hunting from ATVs makes it doable for hunters of all fitness levels

herd of muskox - cool animal for sure

The outfitters wife skinned and quartered the muskox far quicker than your best big white hunter buddy and his 10 helpers with one cape buff and that too in minus 5 F weather!

The cabin is warm and very comfortable. It has an attached bathroom, but no running water in the winter

Bonus sighting the Northern lights

Your trophies are packed in these waterproof bags and left outside to Freeze. They are then sent to Denmark to a taxidermist who will prepare them to ship home or can do the taxidermy work too

Dates are arrive Kangerlussuaq 7th March and depart on 10th March.

The easiest way to go is via Copenhagen. Plan to arrive Copenhagen no later than the 6th and depart no earlier than the 11th. You will need to spend a night going and comin in Copenhagen.

Cost of hunt $7,400
Rifle hire $125
Rental of seal sking clothing and boots $275
Bag to ship trophies $75

Price includes:
One trophy muskox
All meals in camp
Guide
Transport on ATV during the hunt
Field prep of trophies
Permits and licences

Does not include:
• Flight from Copenhagen to Greenland and return, approximately €800 euros
• Alcoholic beverages BYO
• Meals in Kangerlussuaq
• Shipping of trophies to final destination via Denmark
• Everything not mentioned in the ‘included the price’ part.
• Observer’s - €2,500 (Spring hunt), sharing room in cabin
• Second musk ox trophy if extra licenses are available $2,800

I have done this hunt and can say it is a real neat hunt, just to be in the Arctic and come home with a super trophy that few people have. It is not a physically tough hunt as you stay in a warm comfortable cabin and hunt from ATVs. I have had 70 year old clients do this hunt.

This is a short hunt, but you will have 100% shot opportunity. No caribou are available on this hunt. Thats only in the Fall.

Thanks for your time.

I'll second that!

Haven't you heard, Arjun? 70 is the new 50!

On a more serious note, I have heard of late that if one flies through Iceland, instead of Denmark, on the way to Greenland, one can bring his own rifle.

Do you know anything about that?

Thanks.

Mike

Sorry to have offended the 70 year olds here killpc Sorry the new 50s rotflmo Am getting there too guys!

I believe it is pretty straight forward to transit with a rifle through Denmark and easy to enter Greenland with a rifle as well.

To-date all our clients have opted to just rent a rifle as its mostly a one shot hunt and shots within a 100 yards.

But i do like hunting with my own rifle as well.

Thanks
Arjun

What are the costs for getting the skull and hide back to the states? I have heard that it’s pretty expensive but have no idea. In general it seems like Greenland hunts are a lot cheaper than Canada Muskox hunts but the Canadian animals are larger. Thanks

Mike I have no idea about the difference in size in Greenland v/s Canada. A musk ox hunt is like a hunt for an American bison, it is not a difficult or challenging animal to hunt. What is special about this hunt is that the area they call home is so harsh and raw and beautiful its like no other place you have been. To experience the arctic, see the Northen lights the polar ice cap is really special!

What is great about the hunt in Greenland is that you are staying in a nice warm cabin and hunting from ATVs so its also not a bone chilling, ball breaking experience like when riding those sleds in Canada. And you come back with a really cool trophy that not many people have!

The trophies are skinned and salted and put in waterproof bags and frozen (just leave them outside) and are sent thatway to a taxidermist in Denmark by sea. The taxidermist there then prepares them to send back for further processing in the states or can mount them for you as well. Keep in mind they do a lot of muskox trophies so are good at it. I have not checked costs recently but its really on par with trophy shipments anywhere else. All shipping has increased.

Thanks,
Arjun
