I look forward to hosting you in one of the few remaining free range hunting areas in South Africa.
This area holds special significance for me as it has been one of my familys hunting grounds for the last 100+ years. Back then the families mostly hunted bushbuck in the valleys for a few weeks before returning to the open ground and hunting Guinaefowl on my home farm.

The Bushbuck are still top class, but the Nyala just seem to get better every year.

Some trophies taken on this concession.
I will add more as soon as I can upload to photobucket again.

Please email or call to discuss options for the hunt. We will gladly tailor a package to suit your needs

Thanks Tendrams

We have as a rule tried to take only the biggest bulls there and have a limited quota.
We are also in the process of opening up more rangeland to give it a chance to revert to protected game areas.

Many of the failed "land reform" farms are now standing derelict after the new owners have realised they are not able to farm without constant subsidy.

We are taking these into the conservancy and allowing the game to breed freely again without the poaching pressure. We are always amazed at how quickly the farms bounce back once the game starts to feel less pressure from poaching.
In effect it is what many of the original farmers were doing before they sold to the government, so we know the model works.

The new "owners" save us the hassle of removing the fences as that is the first bit of infrastructure, after the farm houses, that gets stripped to fence off subsistence plots in their villages etc.

The communities derive far more benefit out of wilderness based land management than they ever could trying to subsist on these type of farms, and we have the benefit of hunting more wilderness each year.

I imagine that within the next few years we will have 250 000 acres of land back under wildlife based custodianship.

Hi Andrew
We get some snorters there.
There is always a surprise there somewhere. If you willing to spend the time and effort you can bring something really special home.
I imagine your area has the same potential for a monster to step out somewhere.
Looking forward to eventually making it out your way some day. You really live in Paradise.
Cheers
Ian

Hi Jerry
Basically a lot of the fences are gone entirely. The central section has some 5 strand barbed wire down the district road but other than that fences have mostly been stolen.
The Game pass freely through the fences. Kudu over the top, Nyala warthog, duiker, impala and Bushbuc go straight through them. Reedbuck also go straight over the top.

Cheers Ian
