Hi Folks I posted this hunt last year but although some of you expressed interest it didn't pan out for one reason or the other! I was under the impression the hunt had been sold but the PH/Operator just informed me that he managed to roll over the hunt and it is available for 2011 only.

The price is $7,950 for a 7 day hunt and includes the trophy fee and daily rate. The hunt is in a government reserve called "Koppies" Damn Game Reserve and is located about 2 hours South of Johannesburg, so connecting flights are not needed. The reserve is several thousand acres in size with grasslands/savanah and reverine thorn thickets, so it is not a fish in the barrel affair, but as wild as it gets. One can expect a bull in the 40"- 42" range.

Once the Sable is taken, you could then move to the operators private ranch (25,000 acres in size, which also adjoins another huge govt. concession on which he has hunting rights) and hunt there for 28 other Plains game species the rest of the 7 days for trophy fee only on whatever game you decide to take. Over and above this he can also build you a custom package to include any of the other Eastern cape species of plainsgame including Nyala, etc, that are not on his own ranch. The PH is a well known SA operator and has been in business for several years! Lot's of references available.

The $7,950 price includes pick-up at Johannesburg, OR Tambo International and, drop-off at Bloemfontein airport (closest airport to his ranch).

It is a great deal and the hunt will definitely sell at if not before Reno, he has a booth at DSC as well as Reno, so you can meet him personally if you are attending any of these shows. Great deal for a sable!! If I had the time I'd jump on it but unfortunately can't.

IF anyone wishes to meet the PH in Reno about this hunt, please let me know ASAP. This hunt can be tailored to add most other plainsgame species as well once the Sable has been hunted. Any extra days left over after the sable hunt can be used for hunting other species of plains game.
