Folks here are some options for hunting in CAR. These hunts are being offered in association with my french partner Renaud who has been hunting these areas for several years and knows most of the operators on the ground and the local scene for the last 30 years!

The area where these hunts are being offered is Bohou - Pata which includes five blocks, it is an exclusive huge 700.000 hectares concession. The maincamp is named BOHOU after the river and is situated in the Northwest of the hunting area where the operator has their own airstrip for charter planes. Camp is comfortable with individual bungalows (boukarous). Four secondary camps are situated within 5 hours drive from maincamp and are PATA, BRENJA, MBALI, BOUNGOU, these are thatched camps and are more rustic. Depending on the species that you are hunting you may use some of these other camps.

Hunting Season Jan to May:

If one is targetting Eland, earlier in the season is better. If hunting primarily for Bongo, you have two options; to hunt at the beginning of the season from a machan overlooking salt licks, or after the first rains towards the end of the season, when it is easier to track them.
