HUNTING AREA
The total hunting area is about 160,000 acres (80,000ha). It is adjacent to the Faro National Park with the Faro River forming the eastern and southern limit over a length of 44 miles (70km). The river is at certain places 330yd (300m) wide. Riverine forest is found along the Faro River. The main habitat consists of bush and tree savannah interspersed with grassy plains. The area is flat to slowly undulating with two isolated mountains with a height of about 900ft (300m). There are 190 miles (300km) of roads. An important tributary of the Faro River, the Konoué, has many waterholes during the dry season. The hunting area has very low hunting pressure the current quota is only five eland tags per season though this limit is never reached, the camp is equipped with a fleet of well maintained 4x4s and the camp offers excellent French cuisine and comfortable cabins with AC. As a client you will have exclusive use of the hunting block, both PHs are European and speak good English as well as French.

Especially abundant in the area are the larger antelopes such as Derby eland and western roan. Among the smaller antelopes the western bushbuck is well represented. Lions are present the whole year, the territory having enough resources for a permanent population. Herds of elephants pass and stay frequently in the zone. The river contains a large population of hippos and western buffalos thrive.

Since 1995 hunting has been selective and very conservative, which resulted in a dense game population and record-able trophies. The trophy lengths of the collected Derby elands all exceed 461/2 inches or 118cm (Rowland Ward: spiral measurement) with a record, shot in 1997, of 531/4 inches or 137cm. (Cameroon n° 1 (Rowland Ward ed. 2002). The trophies of the western roans are between 24 and 299/8 inches (61 and 76cm) and those of western bushbuck 99/8 and 15 inches (25 and 38cm).

Since 2018 an other hunting bloc at about 80 km is attached to the concession. This bloc is about 220000 acres (112.000 hectares). The habitat is quite different and consists of large plains with large forest of high trees. This area has no large river but isolated waterholes. It is known for a good large game hunting area (Lord Derby Eland, Roan, Hartebeest and the lesser antelopes as Bushbuck, Reedbuck, Warthog, Python, etc) In short is it good for animals that reside in drier areas
Gun permits, VISAs, meet and greet etc
You will need a Visa to enter Cameroon and a gun permit should you wish to bring your own rifle, we have worked with Mathias Michel of Iles et Voyages for many years (www.ilesetvoyages.com) and he can arrange all the paperwork, permits, book all flights, arrange a meet and greet service at either Yaounde or Douala international airport, book hotels for before and after the hunt and assist with any transfers from hotels to regional airports.
