Unique opportunity to hunt Eastern wild turkey and fish the spring striper migration on the Roanoke River.
This hunt takes place in the low grounds of North Eastern NC, which is the most populated area of wild turkeys in state. Only mature gobblers will be harvested. The fishing will take place on the Roanoke River near Weldon, NC. This area of the Roanoke is known as the stripped bass capital of the world. Hundreds of thousands of fish come up from the ocean to spawn and the action is truly amazing. It is very common to catch over one hundred fish a day.
All hunting will take place on private land and you will have an experienced caller with you at all times. Lodging is included with this trip. Season is from April14th through May 12th.

Offering this at a discount of $700 per day for one person or $400 per person for a group of three or more.
Trip is provided by:
Roanoke River Waterfowl.
Outfitter is Captain Clark Purvis

Is this fly fishing only for the stripers or could you do it with spinning tackle as well?

The striper migration has begun. Once they start spawning you can catch 80 to 100 fish a day. A lot of fun to catch on top water. We are hunting all private land next to the Roanoke River National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is 90,0000 acres and is the largest intact bottom land hardwood forest East of the Mississippi. Not much big country like this left on the East Coast.

Any chance to combine this with one of the Black Bear hunts you have previously offered - I'm thinking 2017 ?

Yes although it would not be during the spawning season for Stripers. We do catch them in the delta that time of year and there is also fishing for Redfish and Speckled Trout in the Pamlico Sound.

This is what a school of Giant Red Drum look like in the Pamilco Sound in the Fall. They come here to spawn like the Stripers just at a different time of the year. Notice the Bull Shark in the middle. They also do not come as far up the rivers. Very common to catch Redfish that weigh over 50 pounds and I have caught as many as 30 of these size fish in a day.

My son and I did some fishing and scouting yesterday. Nothing like the Spring in the South. Turkeys gobbling along with Dogwoods and Azaleas in bloom.

Hunt dates that are available this Spring are April 15, 20, 21, 22 and May 4, 5 and 6th. I put some game cameras out on Saturday and will try and post some current pictures this week.

I can also put together an unguided hunting package if you are interested.

Spring food plots are helping us hold a good amount of birds.

A good opening day. We had one miss and another gun that did not fire.

This bird was hung up with hen in middle of field so we sent out the drone.

Nice Migration of fish up around the farm. We have some areas where we can drift the river while we fish and call. If we hear a bird we hunt him. We have dates open.

I have the last week open and Toms are hot. Still hearing as many as ten different gobblers some mornings. Every client has killed at least one bird this season!
