Newfoundland Moose: a few dates remaining

I have a few openings remaining for this Fall (2022) in Newfoundland for Moose (Black Bear can be added). Dates are: September 11-16 (2 spots). October 2-7 (2 spots) October 16-21 (6 spots). Camp is limited to 6 hunters. This 5 day hunt includes guide, lodging, meals and license for one Moose. Outfitter has ATV's and Argo's for getting to remote areas. Newfoundland hosts one of the highest Moose populations with an estimated 140,000-150,000. Local processing is available to skin, quarter and process your meat. Expect around $500 CDN for full processing. Shipping is available as well but you will need around $200 CDN for insulated shipping boxes. I had zero problems getting my meat, antlers and bear hide shipped. I've hunted with this outfitter before and took a bull Moose as well as a giant Black Bear. Although archery is allowed, I recommend rifle, muzzle loader or bow if your an advanced bow hunter. Moose can be tough if your in dark timber. Fly into Deer Lake, NFD and rent a vehicle or I can arrange ground transportation at your cost. Cost of this 5 day hunt is $4,200 with a $1,500 deposit. Contact me for references.

Not trying to throw cold water or wet blankets, but when I hunted there, the people, seemed to have NO idea of what constituted a "trophy" and were one of the oldest operations in the area. Owner got bent when he asked me, what you looking for, and I said, something like you have on the wall. He couldn't get another one like that. AND screwed one of out guys out of a moose as sold ME the anything tag, and this other guy a BULL only one. I'd have taken the Bull only tag, and the other guy willing to shoot a cow, which he saw. We didn't know till after the hunt, that I was the one with the Bull or cow tag. Just too much BS for me.

There are no mounts hanging in this lodge, nor skulls lying around, so I don't know where you get this from. There a many mature bulls in this area as it's remote, and just as many repeat hunters come back just for meat, not big antlers. For someone trying not to "throw cold water or wet blankets" I'd say you did exactly that.

No doubt, curious, I would assume we have some moose hunters out there, anyone want to venture a guess at the score of the moose in the pic (or even the spread)? Perhaps the OP knows and is willing to give it?
