Hello:

My name is Jim Welles. I own and operate JFW Ranch Consulting, LLC, 10600 Eagle Rock Ave, Albuquerque, NM 87122. Our phone number is 505.294.7861. I have been a registered outfitter in NM for 16 years.

Cross Diamond Ranch is 11,500 acres just east of Raton. There are 2 deer hunts allowed on this ranch per year and the bucks produced are awesome. Pics of the bucks posted were harvested on this ranch in the last two seasons.
These hunts are $4K +NMGRT of 7%. The hunts are guided only. Meals, lodging, license, transport to the ranch are the hunters responsibility. Guiding is 2x1 and done by spot and stalk.

Elk hunts in this area are offered on the Berry Ranch, NE of Raton near Yankee and on the Cross Diamond. These hunts are $5.5K +NMGRT of 7% on CDR and $7.5K + NMGRT of 7% on the Berry. The Berry folks will offer 2 archery hunts as well. DATES of OCT 1 are open now. This is prime rut and the first timeframe for rifle and if you choose you can bow hunt as well. The hunts are "guided only" as well. Meals, lodging, license, transport to the ranch are the hunters responsibility. Guiding is 2x1 and done by spot and stalk.

Contact us at JFWRC@comcast.net or by phone with any questions you may have.

Pics will follow. Thanks for looking-Jim

Thank you Scott-It really is cool country to hunt.

I did forget to mention that it is possible to do a combo on the Cross Diamond. The price is $7K + NMGRT of 7%. This to is "guided only."

The combo hunt date is Oct 29th.

Fellows

I have ranched for years just a few miles east of this ranch. Super fun country to hunt and the quality is there.

Expect to encounter bulls in the 260 to 320+ range. Getting them, as you know, is oftentimes easier said than done. A 380 bull was supposedly taken on the Berry a couple of years back. One of the Berry's is supposed to get a pic for me to post. The CDR adjoins the TO and they have produced high 300 bulls. The Berry is a stones throw from the TO as well.

Oct 1 spots are still open at Cross Diamond.

The bulls are going absolutely crazy at this time on the ranch and........you will be the first ones on the ranch as there is no September bowhunting on this place.

I have hunted on the TO Ranch and ranches around it 4 times for Elk and Mule Deer. We have taken 4 bulls from 300 to 330 and three bucks all mid 170's quality.

My favorite area to go. hope you can sell it.
