Fellow Hunters,

Im trying to find a couple hunters keen to be the first foreigners to hunt my new Trophy Red Deer area in NW Ukraine. Trophies well over 10kg are possible and have been taken in previous seasons. To make it more low risk for hunters i will reduce the hunt cost to $500 if nothing 8kg or bigger is seen. This is a super offer with probably the cheapest trophy fees on big Red Stags. I can supply many quality references if needed including a very well known American hunter and Outfitter that has hunted with me.

Dates are 13-18 for 2 hunters or 19-24 for single hunter.

Pick up at Kiev Borispol or Kiev Zhulany Airport, drive approx 4 hrs to hunting area. The hunting areas are in North Western part of Ukraine and nowhere near the problems in the East.
Accommodation will be in Cabin in hunting area.
Good Flight connections to Kiev are available thru Amsterdam, London and Istanbul. Also cheap flights with Wizz air from Hamburg, Cologne and Dortmund in Germany and London Luton.
American, Canadian and European Passport holders can enter Ukraine visa free. Australian can get visa on arrival. New Zealanders need to receive a visa before arrival.
Importing firearms is difficult so I will supply a scoped and Ruger American or Haenel Jaeger in 30-06.
References available if needed.
All my areas have produced over 10kg Trophies.
Hunters should bring with them their Firearms and Hunting Licence .

Trophy Export/Import
If time allows after the hunt I will supply an International Vet Certificate and copies of the License.
Hunters can take the salted cape and boiled and cleaned Antlers/Skull with them when they leave.
If the hunters don’t take the trophies, they will be dried, packed and shipped at a later date at hunter’s expense.
Capes can also be tanned and dried professionally here and then shipped if needed.

Hunting methods-
During Mid to late September when the Stags are rutting, we will stalk the Pine and Oak forests and hunt the largest Stags by calling/stalking. We walk the edge of fields or open feeding areas.
Later in the season, specifically in the colder Winter Months we will stalk the fields and feeding areas. There is also the option of high seats throughout the season which runs from 1st August to 31st January.

Cost of Hunt $1000
Included –
4 days hunting/5 nights
Rifle and Ammunition
All transport, guide, Accommodation and Meals (while in hunting area)
Airport transfers
English Speaking interpreter
Processing of Trophy (skinning and salting Cape, boiling and cleaning skull)
International Vet Certificate

Red Deer Trophy Fee
To 7kg $2500
To 8kg $3000
To 9kg $3500
To 10kg $4000 + $100/100gr
11kg $5000 +150/100gr

Payments – Deposit $1000, the balance can be brought in Cash. Deposit can be wired to my Australian Account in AUD or my Ukrainian account in USD or Euro. Once Hunter agrees on terms I will send an Invoice with Bank Details.

Other costs
-If hunter wants or needs to stay longer its $250 p/d.
-Non Hunters - $150 p/d
-Hotels before or after hunt min. $70 p/d
-If any Trophy animal is wounded with blood found, ½ to full trophy fee will be charged. Discretion of hunting guide.
-If leaving hunting area early, meals and accommodation are not included.
-If you want to hunt Roe, Red Deer or Boar specifically after you shoot your Red Stag, the cost is $50 per outing. Red Deer are in different areas and Transfer will be $100.
-Trophy packing and shipping
- Transfer to other Hunting area for Hunting of other Game $100.

Additional Animals on Trophy Fee Basis

Roe Deer if still in Antler (usually until Nov)
To 500gr $600

That would be a mutual decision between the local guide (who is the most experienced), myself and the hunter.
Furthermore im not in it to screw anyone over $500. Im doing this to open up hunting in Ukraine, attracting hunters to a new destination and building a good reputation by sending happy hunters home.

The fee for a 10kg trophy is about what I paid in Poland for a 10.1 stag but the dailyrate is a lot less. This is a really good deal. If I hadn't "been there, done that" I would be on it.

.

Interesting.

Two things

1/ you write at the start its a red deer hunt but under 'other costs' you say that when you have shot your sika....

I guess thats a typo and its a red deer hunt not sika.

2/ and more important for me - are you able to offer the same package for 2018 ?

Cheers

I want to hunt Europe but I have no experience there so this pricing guide means nothing to me.

Is 10kg huge? I realize that is all about the mass so beam length and number of points don't factor in directly.

What's a typical 7kg rack look like compared to a 10kg?

How do you weigh the rack to determine the price? Since they're attached to the skull does the skull count?

The 10.1 stag i shot in Poland was a 8x7 with moderate palmation in the crowns. Weight is determined after sawing off the
skull just below the eyes and through the upper jaw area. In other words, it is a half skull with antlers. A 10 kg stag is a HUGE trophy and would be a CIC gold medal animal. The 3 guys I hunted with in Poland were experienced European hunters with many red stags in the bag and had not shot one of 10 kg. If you have a good chance at a 10 kg stag here, you have a chance at a once in a lifetime trophy. Also, a 7kg stag would be about a typical 6x6 "good" stag.

10kg is huge. But for a dedicated stag hunter age is at least as important.

One reason I have refused to hunt in Europe, is this silly escalating price racket they have.

I will stick to hunting Africa.

Where an animal costs $X no matter what is side is.

Fjord,
Yes 10kg is like a benchmark with Red Deer. Most hunters never shoot a wild 10kg Red Deer as they arent under every tree and can be pretty pricey.
Ive added a couple more picks of Red Trophies on my picture link, they are at the bottom right. The one in the forest went over 11kg and the big clean one a bit over 10kg. Both great Trophies. My clients didnt shoot them but they are from my hunting areas.
Just to correct jdollar on the weighing system used in Europe. Only the Roe Deer can be measured with a cut skull (or with full skull - 90gram), all others are measures with full skull. Usually boiled out, cleaned and weighed 24hrs later.

Saeed, there are many reasons why its like this in Europe but i wouldnt say this doesnt happen in Africa.
We must remember that Europe is not as wild as some places in Africa and the hunting areas may have been managed for hundreds of years. It would make no sense to sell a hunter a 12kg Stag at the same price as a 7kg stag to someone that didnt really really want it. People that want the premium trophies need to pay premium prices, its just the way it is. In a way it makes sense.
Alot of areas have fixed pricing on Red Deer but you would find that most dont have Trophies that grow over 9 or 10kg. Here in Ukraine ive shot 2 Stags only, one 10kg (the pic in the harvested field), and the other 14kg (with grass in foreground) which is an absolute work class Trophy. The Europeans that have seen it have almost wet themselves when holding it Smiler
And i doubt you could find any pricing like mine anywhere for big Trophy Reds.

Romania is a country in Europe where is not allowed to hunt red stag and roebuck in driven hunt. We have rules to protect the good genes and to have big trophies. For example this year was not allowed to hunt any potential mwdal trophy in the next years. We have here 2 kind of hunt: selection and trophy hunt. Any big trophy of those animals are directly proportional with our work and our conservation. I think this is one explanation why this kind of payment regarding the size or weight.

Would late September - early October dates allow one to take advantage of the red deer and Sika deer ruts on one hunt ?

Yes its possible but the Sika dont start really roaring until around the end of the first week of October and the Reds are usually finished by then so a tough one to catch both roaring.
Plus im booked out for that period.
